On November 4th my favorite villain “Maleficent” debuts on Disney Blu-ray Combo Pack! Insert spooky laugh here! This wicked tale stars Angelina Jolie as Maleficent in all her frightfulness in the twisted depiction of “Sleeping Beauty”. I must warn you if you think it’s going to be exactly the story of the animated feature it’s not. It’s told from Maleficent’s point of view. I really enjoyed where they took the story of her life as a child and how she grew up. It then leads into how a neighboring kingdom threatens her land in the forest, which causes her to put a curse on Princess Aurora (Elle Fanning). It all comes to the tale of the spinning wheel, well you know. I wasn’t sure if I was going to like this movie because of other live action remakes that I was just meh about. This movie is spellbinding, full of awesome special effects and a different view of the classic “Sleeping Beauty”.
